I expected a decent Basic Pension, untaxed...I expected a decent Basic Pension, untaxed and not means tested. Now there is a surplus in the NI Fund of £36 billion which will rise by 2012 to £60 billion,
the interest alone from this is sufficient to increase the state basic pension to £200 per week per singl pensioner. Why has this not been done.
What are the EU Member States Basic Pension benefit as a comparison to the UK and what % contributions support this in all member states.
